Leah
Lach

I’m Leah, a documentary and editorial-style wedding photographer rooted in the Colorado mountains. I learned to ski in Vail when I was three years old and have lived in the valley for many years, so this place has always felt like home.

My approach blends calm guidance with honest storytelling. I care about the way your day feels just as much as how it looks. The big celebrations, the quiet in-between moments, the details you didn’t even realize mattered. My goal is to help you stay present, then create images that bring you back to it all for the rest of your life.

She took the time to really get to know my partner and I, and this made all the difference during our wedding day. “She captures raw emotions, and some of the most breathtaking scenes.”

I look back through every photo Leah captured and can relive that moment. 01

We connect

Planning a wedding in Vail can feel like a lot, especially if it's a destination wedding. I'm here to ease that process as your local guide for Vail-specific wedding planning resources and one on one support along the way. Let's collaborate on mood boards, talk through unique wedding day elements, and intentionally piece together your day.

02

hands on planning support

Leading up to the wedding, we will have a live call to create an extensive photography timeline for your day. We'll talk through the elements you're most excited about, implement weather back-up plans, organize your family photo list, and make sure every everyone knows where to be and when.

03

crafting your timeline

I'll be there for you, present, calm, and always two steps ahead. You'll have a hype gal during the big moments and a comforting support during the quiet in-betweens. It will be a grounded, stress-free day

I'll protect your peace by coordinating your people, keeping us on schedule, and prioritizing your experience above all else. Let me take care of how the logistics work, while you focus on how the day feels.

04

Your Vail Wedding Day

Every image edited is with care, thoughtfully crafted to tell the story of your day. You'll receive timeless, true-to-color frames of your most treasured moments and will get to relive them from the eyes of others as well. It's that full circle moment of seeing how the entire day unfolded. Then we'll bring those photos to life through album design and prints for you to relive again and again.

05

your forever memories

Yes, you want the scroll-stopping image. The one you'll frame. But the photographs that will wreck you in the best way?

Those are the ones you did not pose for.
The pure emotion when he saw you in your dress for the first time. The way she grabbed your hand during the vows without thinking. Your dad laughing at in inside joke from your childhood. Your grandma lively on the dance floor with a proud smile.

A Vail wedding has no shortage of extraordinary backdrops, but the images that hold the most weight are not the ones with the best mountain behind them. They are the ones where you forgot the camera existed.

That's why your experience will always be my number one priority. It's the moments when you're truly present that result in the most meaningful memories.

This is a once in a life time moment, and I want you to experience it fully.

Real, EMOTIONAL IMAGES THAT STAND the TEST OF TIME

In a world filled with social media influencers, AI software, and convenience over quality, the concept of "real" couldn't feel more fleeting. Your wedding is not a performance or opportunity for viral views. It's your true life story that you're living. The one you'll reminisce on as you celebrate your 50th wedding anniversary or laugh over cuddled on the couch with grandchildren one day. I aim to give you a final gallery that is imperfectly perfect, filled with true love, deep emotion, and rich authenticity. It's a thoughtful mix of digital refined moments that shine and nostalgic film photos that preserve the beauty in now.

Your photos aren't meant to be perfect. They're meant to be real.

Vail Wedding Planning
RESOURCES

BEST TIME TO GET MARRIED IN VAIL

Summer — Late June Through Early September

Spring in Vail is mud season. Snow is melting, trails double as running rivers, and the mountains are primarily brown as the foliage hasn't quite bloomed. Similarly, snow in November is sparse and patchy, and dried plants make for a dull landscape. If possible, I encourage couples to avoid this time of year as Vail Valley is well-known and loved for it's aspen trees, and the lack of color and leaves simply doesn't do it justice. Most mountain towns close their restaurants, shops, and bars during this time due to low tourist traffic.

The catch: because this season is unpopular, vendors typically have more availability, housing rates are cheaper, and it's easier to plan a wedding quickly.

My advice: Hire a local photographer who understands the landscape and can prioritize evergreen terrain or summit views for your wedding portraits. With local expertise, you can still have beautiful wedding photos from your day.

Mud Season — April, May, and November

Summer gives you the most flexibility — long days, warm weather, and wildflowers as natural foreground detail. It's lush and alive with greenery.

The catch: summer is peak season, which means venues are busiest, so availability can be limited, and seasonal pricing is often higher. Afternoon thunderstorm potential is also high, so plan ahead with a strategic timeline and prioritize venues that offer a strong weather back up plan.

My advice: Choose July for peak wildflower season and work with a local photographer who knows how to capitalize on color.

Fall — Mid-September Through Mid-October

Peak aspen leaf season is unlike anything else in Colorado. It creates natural warmth, texture, and abundant color that no filter or edit can manufacture.

The catch: This window is short and unpredictable. Peak color can shift by a week year to year depending on precipitation and temperatures.

My advice: For peak fall foliage in Vail, aim for the last weekend of September or the first weekend in October. If your date isn't flexible, choose a higher elevation location (like Summit County) for early September or a lower elevation location (like Denver) for late October to get the best color.

These two weekends in Vail book out faster than any other time period, so plan ahead.

Winter — December Through March

Imagine snow-covered rooftops, warm lodge lights, and the time of year when this European ski village atmosphere truly comes to life. The snow creates a sense of visual softness, and this season creates the unique opportunity to take ski photos on the mountain for the adventure-seeking couples.

The catch: Because Vail is a tourist-destination, pricing for lodging can be double during peak holidays. You are also subject to winter storms that can bring unpleasant temperatures, road closures, and transportation delays.

My advice: Encourage guests to arrive early and settle in. Lean into the ski aesthetic with fur coats and warm accessories. Strategize indoor options and heating if needed with your venue.

FREQUENTLY
ASKED
QUESTIONS

Q. How much does a Vail wedding photographer cost?

Packages begin at $6,000 and are fully customizable. Vail weddings vary widely from intimate mountain elopements to multi-venue full day celebrations and my pricing reflects the scope of your specific day, not a flat rate.

Q. When should I book a Vail wedding photographer?

As early as you can. Vail is a destination market and the best dates go fast. For summer and fall weekends, 12 to 18 months is standard. September/October fall color dates, the most sought-after window in the valley, typically book out first.

Q. Do you shoot ski weddings and on-mountain portraits in Vail?

Absolutely! I grew up on these slopes and have a deep passion for skiing. If ski portraits or a ski wedding are part of your vision, this is a specialty, not an add-on.

Q. Do You Travel Outside of Vail?

Yes. Vail is one of my specialized Colorado markets, but I shoot weddings all over the state, country, and even the world. I'll follow you wherever your love takes you.

Q. What does your Vail wedding planning support include?

A custom Vail planning guide with vendors I personally trust, a timeline built around your venue's specific light and logistics, hidden first look location suggestions, housing and hotel recommendations and trip planning tips for the area.

Q. Do you offer FIlm with vail wedding photography packages?

Yes. I offer both 35mm analog film and polaroid add-on options.
